BRIEF (Bencoolen Regional Investment and Economic Forum)

BRIEF (Bencoolen Regional Investment and Economic Forum) is an annual investment forum, aiming to promote potential projects and local products in Bengkulu to the world.

Bencoolen Regional Investment and Economic Forum (BRIEF) 2024 Executive Meeting themed "Unlocking Bencoolen's Future: Sustainable Investment on Regional Potential for Stronger Growth".

The BRIEF 2024 Executive Meeting was opened and led by the Acting Governor of Bengkulu, Dr. E. H. Rosjonsyah Syahili Sibarani, S.I.P., M.Sc.

At BRIEF 2024, the Bencoolen Investment Challenge (BLINC) 2024 appreciation was presented to 2 selected projects, namely the Palak Siring Tourism Project, North Bengkulu Regency and the Pondok Pusaka Technopark Project, Kaur Regency. Several further investment interests were outlined in the signing of the Letter of Intent (LoI) by several investors witnessed directly by the Kaur Regency DPMPTSP, Bengkulu Province DPMPTSP, and North Bengkulu DPMPTSP as the project owner consisting of:

  1. Mini Hydro Power Plant Project, Kaur Regency by the President Director of PT Gema Muara Energi (Ir. Jetna Barkah Subrata)
  2. Waste Management Project on Baai Island, Bengkulu City by the Director of PT. Pituku Cordova Internasional (Mr. Fais Rinaldi)
  3. Marine Aquaculture (Vannamei Shrimp) Project, North Bengkulu by PT. Sinar Inti Korpora (Mr. Legino Halim)

In order to introduce several investment potentials in Bengkulu Province, an investment forum was held with several topics at the BRIEF 2024 activity which presented several speakers, namely:
  1. Why invest in Bengkulu by the Regional Secretary of Bengkulu Province
  2. Mini-Hydro Power Plant Project by the President Director of PT Gema Muara Energi
  3. Danau Dendam Tak Sudah Tourism Project by the Head of the Bengkulu Provincial Tourism Office
  4. Marine Aquaculture: Vannamei Shrimp Project by the Head of DPMPTSP North Bengkulu

Bengkulu Economic Discussion “Dissemination of the Bengkulu LPP August 2024 edition and the Dissemination of the Regional Fiscal Study (KFR) for the Second Quarter of 2024”

The KPwBI of Bengkulu Province collaborated with the Regional Office of the Directorate General of State Treasury (DJPB) of Bengkulu Province in organizing the Bengkulu Province Economic Discussion which was combined with the Dissemination of the August Edition of the Provincial Economic Report (LPP) and the Regional Fiscal Study (KFR) for the Second Quarter of 2024 on Friday (20/09).

The Provincial Economic Discussion discussed strategies for building a resilient and sustainable Bengkulu economy through synergy of monetary and fiscal policies according to the theme raised. The activity presented speakers, namely the Head of the Bank Indonesia Representative Office of Bengkulu Province, the Head of the Regional Office of DJPb of Bengkulu Province, and the Financial Services Institution Supervisor of the OJK of Bengkulu Province. The Bengkulu Province Economic Discussion was also attended by vertical agencies, OPDs, academics, business actors, and students.

High Level Meeting TPID Provinsi Bengkulu

HLM TPID Bengkulu Province with the theme "Synergy and Collaboration Encourage Strengthening of Inflation Control and Food Security in the End of 2024" in Bengkulu City.

In this HLM TPID, the steps to control inflation, especially food, that have been taken and future plans are discussed. Due to solid collaboration and synergy, Bengkulu Province's inflation in August 2024 remains under control. It is estimated that Bengkulu Province's inflation at the end of 2024 will be in accordance with the national inflation target of 2.5 +/- 1%. As a concrete manifestation, BI and the Bengkulu Provincial Government in an effort to increase food commodity production in the region, have implemented various programs in collaboration with various parties and provided agricultural infrastructure to farmer groups. Through effective inflation control, it is hoped that food security in the region can be realized and can support sustainable economic growth in Bengkulu.

Curation of Bengkulu Potential Investment Projects in the framework of the Bencoolen Investment Challenge (BLINC)

22-23 August 2024

The KPwBI of Bengkulu Province together with the Investment Acceleration, MSME Development, and Export Enhancement Team of Bengkulu Province (RIRU Raflesia) carried out the Curation of Potential Investment Projects (22-23/08) which was attended by 9 Regencies/Cities with a total of 16 investment projects. This activity is part of the 1st Bencoolen Investment Challenge (BLINC) program. The series of BLINC activities include project identification, presentation, curation, announcement of the best projects, and assistance in preparing investment proposals and feasibility studies.

This curation is a joint effort with the Regional Government to highlight the potential for superior investment in Bengkulu, as a follow-up to the Dedicated Meeting and Capacity Building which has been taking place since May 2024. The curator team that assessed the project presentations came from Bappenas RI, BKPM RI, and PT. Indonesian Infrastructure Guarantee Fund (PT PII).

Through this curation activity, it is hoped that investment obstacles can be overcome, so that it can encourage better investment promotion and realization in Bengkulu Province.

Capacity Building for Pre-Feasibility Study Preparation for Potential Investment Projects in Bengkulu within the framework of the Bencoolen Investment Challenge (BLINC)

23-24 August 2023

The activity was opened by the Head of the BI Representative Office of Bengkulu Province and the Head of the PMPTSP Office of Bengkulu Province.

The speakers who attended the activity were Ms. Aulia Puspitorini and Mr. Akbar Satya Winansyah from PT Penjamin Infrastruktur Indonesia (PT PII).

The materials presented included:

  1. The Government and Business Entity Cooperation Scheme (KPBU) and the role of government guarantees
  2. Components of preparing investment proposals
  3. A one-on-one meeting concept consultation session to explore the investment potential of each region
  4. Sharing regarding obstacles experienced by the Regency/City related to the superior investment projects of each region

The activity was closed with the delivery of the One Page Summary template and the Clean and Clear Project shortlist by Bank Indonesia. And in the 3rd week of August 2024, the activity will be continued with the main BLINC agenda, namely the Curation of Potential Investment Projects which will be followed by all Regencies/Cities throughout Bengkulu Province.
